Remember when all a battery had to do was start the car?

Modern vehicles are loaded with more electronics than would have been imaginable just a few years ago. And today’s hobbyist vehicles now include more specialties and specialized power demands than ever before. Fortunately, the ODYSSEY battery has been designed to keep up with the changes.

Modern battery load requirements for In Car Entertainment are often the cause of many driveability and starting problems which can be traced to low battery voltage.

Low battery voltage can also affect fuel delivery by causing the fuel pump to run slower than normal. This in turn can cause low fuel pressure and a lean fuel condition.

Under some conditions, a low battery may even prevent one or more injectors from opening normally causing lean misfire and/or hard starting. This is why it is imperative that performance vehicles with high fuel and ignition demands are powered by a performance battery that can meet these requirements.

ODYSSEY is the battery used by professionals and motoring enthusiasts alike in every form of motorsport, from blistering Top Fuel drag cars, World Rally cars, NASCAR and Touring Cars race teams around the world.

So what’s the difference? Some batteries provide enormous cranking power. Others, deep cycle reserve power. The revolutionary ODYSSEY® battery is designed to do both.

How is this possible? The answer begins with flat plates made of 99.99% pure virgin lead – not lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so we can fit more of them in the battery. More ODYSSEY battery plates mean more plate surface area. And that means more power – twice as much as conventional batteries.

In fact, ODYSSEY batteries are capable of providing engine cranking pulses in excess of 2250 amps for 5 seconds – double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries, even at very low temperatures. And they can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge.

Like many popular spiral-wound batteries, ODYSSEY batteries employ dry cell AGM technology to contain acid, allowing the battery to be installed even on its side. But the densely packed fl at plates in an ODYSSEY battery avoid the “dead space” between cylinders in a “six-pack” design. The result is 15% more plate surface area – and that translates to more power!

With a range of Batteries for most vehicle applications its time to get your hands on an ODYSSEY today!
