Underground Racing TT Lamborghini Gallardo – World Record Pass!

Underground Racing TT Lamborghini Gallardo 8 Second 1/4 Mile World Record Pass

(Words from the Bull’s Owner)

First, I would like to say thanks to Ray “Peak Completions” Hofman for letting Underground Racing build him yet another monster. Also, I want to thank the Underground Racing Team for building such a bad ass street car and the fastest and quickest Lamborghini Gallardo, by far, anywhere. John Reed did a great job as usual with his Motec setup and KC with dyno and track side tuning. With our marketing team busy gearing up for TI and SEMA there wasn’t much time to spare for putting together a video like we usually do, so we came up with this short teaser. Watch out for the full track video and more info to be released about this Superleggera build coming soon.

This Twin Turbo Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera was built to be a street car and also to run the standing mile. Ray said, “Do ANYTHING you want to it! As long as it drives like a street car and is the baddest Gallardo on the planet!” So we built him a Race version that makes 1,750+ WHP. Having 1,100 WHP on tap using pump gas, he can drive it anywhere and it will operate as smoothly as our regular Stage 3 street builds.

We decided we needed the car to launch just in case we ever sent the car to Russia for the Moscow 500 or any other timed event. For a timed event, it must have launch control for the best ET, which prior mile cars didn’t need when just going for high MPH. We ended up at the dragstrip to set up and test the launch control and check out some 60′ times. After we got it dialed in, I couldn’t help but make a few full passes and ended up with some killer results as you will see in this teaser video. With only a small amount of test time, the best 60′ thus far is 1.5, so we have a lot of room for improvement with a better tire and some other tricks not yet applied to this build.

During this process we have also tested some new parts that are only available exclusively through Underground

Racing: the new RPS carbon/carbon clutch which is working great and is very streetable, the new FULL billet race differential and our new “Quiet” Helix Billet 1st – 6th gear set and final drive gears. Thanks to Guy at HRE Wheels for the 18″ wheels they sent us to run the Hoosier 335-30-18 drag radials. The ONLY wheel we trust at these speeds are HREs. Our transmission is a full “factory synchronized” transmission that uses all of the OEM E-Gear operating system.

I know a lot of you guys are wondering about track time with the Underground Racing TT Aventador, and its time has come. We have just been so busy with this Superleggera project and many other things that have taken all of our “extra” time lately. Rest assured that we will be at the track again soon with both cars.

Bathurst 12-Hour – Porsche Champion Ready For Ferrari Return!

CRAIG BAIRD is now a four-time Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Champion – but he is determined to add a second Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour victory to his credit driving for the German marquee’s arch-rival brand; Ferrari.

The Queensland-based New Zealander will return to the mountain with Clearwater Racing next February, as the Asian GT Championship winning team seek to go two places better than their superb third-place effort in the race this year.

Baird, co-driving with works Ferrari driver Matt Griffin and team owner Mok Weng Sung, finished a surprise third in the 2012 race, behind the factory-supported Audi R8LMS that won, and the Erebus Racing Mercedes SLS AMG that scored second.

Their Ferrari 458 GT3 was the only Ferrari to finish the race, the speedy Maranello Motorsport example setting lap records before succumbing to mechanical dramas early in the race.

The podium result was something of a surprise for the team – their focus always on the win on their 2013 return.

“Weng (team owner, Mok Weng Sung) is always very conservative with his predictions but Matt Griffin and I were pretty confident that we would be capable of finishing on the podium,” Baird said.

“Clearwater doesn’t do things by halves and once we had Weng up to a level where he was comfortable, we knew we viagra canada would contend for a decent result.

“It was a tough race with the weather conditions changing all the time and that made things difficult, but we got there.

“It’s a great team to work with and I can’t wait to come back. I think we’re a chance.”

Accustomed to jumping between different types of cars, Baird says the Ferrari 458 is a strong contender for the annual 12-hour race, though not ideally suited to the epic 6.213km circuit.

“The Ferrari actually struggles for torque on the climb up the hill,” Baird explains.

“It just doesn’t have the torque as cars like the Lambo, but overall it’s a really good car. I think our car will be better and for sure they will have done some development since this year’s race.

“We have great support from Ferrari and Matt Griffin is a known commodity here now – he’s a great driver. It’s just easier going back a second year.”

Well-known for his exploits behind the wheel of the German Porsche brand, Baird says he has no problems switching brands for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour each year.

Baird’s race win in 2007 came at the wheel of a BMW Production Car, prior to the introduction of GT cars in the race.

“If there was a works-supported Porsche in the race, I’d be in it, for sure,” Baird explained.

“But when you’re in a position that it’s one of our biggest races of the year and they don’t have a car to go in, they aren’t going to put restraints on where you can drive, which is great.”

Baird’s record-breaking year in Carrera Cup saw him take 10 race wins and wrap up the title with a round to go – something he hopes leads into more 12-hour style races around the world.

“It’s been one of the best seasons I have ever had in Carrera Cup,” the now four-time champion said.

“And racing with the quality of opposition, like Jeroen Bleekemolen, has led to a bit of interest from overseas, which is very flattering. I’d love to do more events like the 12 Hour here and abroad.

The Clearwater Racing Ferrari is one of two currently entered – lap record holding outfit Maranello Motorsport set to return with their speedy 458.

Drum Solo VS Guitar Solo – Drag Racing!

Nothing better than a good old fashion drag race to settle the score!

Without a doubt this is one of 2012’s stand out commercials. Ice Break ‘Real Ice Coffee Cold’ has really hit the ball out of the park with this one, answering the age old question, “Which Solo is better, Guitar or Drum?”

Executed at WSID, they’ve customised 2 classic Muscle Cars; A Charger to represent the Guitar Solo (complete with Marshall Amps replacing the back seats and Wah-wah pedal as an accelerator!) and a Falcon GT to represent the Drum Solo (complete with snare drum air intake and Zildjian cymbal steering wheel!).

Now the cherry on

top is they are giving away 4 Muscle cars in their viral comp. More info on how to win these classic whips here: http://www.facebook.com/IceBreak/app_495519643799493

Nissan's baby – The Altima V8 Supercar

Nissan have unveiled their new entrant into V8 Supercars to the world. When we first saw a snapshot of the engine on a stand, we were already pretty keen to see what it was going to be put into.

The Quad-cam, 32 Valve monster of an engine will be sitting in a Nissan Altima bodied car. Naturally, being a new competitor to the series, the car has been built to all 2013 Car Of The Future standards (including IRS, larger 18 inch wheels and a transaxle gearbox).

Rick Kelly has been given the chance to be a factory-driver for Nissan, and it’s something he “isn’t going to take lightly”

The pictures do enough talking. Once the aero has been homologated by the powers that be, the Kelly team will begin to carry out testing to ensure the car is up to the pace and

hopefully, faster through most sectors than their old car.

Follow the link for further detailed information on the unveil - http://www.v8supercars.com.au/championship/newsarticle/nissan-altima-v8-supercar-unveiled/tabid/70/newsid/13106/default.aspx
